This is just an application of proportions. You know that there are 4 cups for every 14 strawberries in the yogurt, which can be represented as the fraction (4/14). You also know there are 28 strawberries in the new yogurt, but don't know the cups of milk. This can be represented as (x/28). In order to determine how much milk is needed for this new amount of strawberries, you solve for the unknown in this proportion:
4 cups = x cups
14 strawberries 28 strawberries
(28)*(4/14)=(x/28)*(28)
(28)*(4/14)=x
8=x
So, there will be 8 cups of milk in the 28 strawberry yogurt.
Alternatively, you could notice that 28 is twice 14 and double the milk cup amount, getting you the same answer. Still, it's always best to go through the process rather than take shortcuts, at first.
I hope this is helpful for you.
