Andrew is paid $4 per hour for the first 30 hours he works each week. He makes $5 per hour for each hour he works over 30 hours per week. In other words, total

Write a function that gives Andrew’s total wages when he works more than 30 hours. Use the variables w for wages and h for hours.

If one wishes, the solution of w = 120 + 5(h-30) can be simplified down to  w = 5h-30  which gives the same results.

I mean no disrespect to Michael J., but his solution is not correct.

Don't worry about it.  If I make a mistake, I encourage you and others to step in and provide a more accurate answer.  We don't want the student to walk away with incorrect info.

Maria T's comment is respectful of the person, but critical of the product (which is often needed).
Michael J's comment attempts to separate the quality of the product from the person (a very smart thing to do!).
