David from FT Myers is correct the answer is x=-32/7 =-4.57
18=-7x-14
7x=-14-18
7x=-32
x=-32/7
x=-4.57

ax2 + bx + c =0
- b ± √(b2 -4ac)
x12 = ————————
2a
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
9x2 = -7x - 14
9x2 + 7x + 14 = 0
a = 9, b = 7, c = 14
- 7 ± √(49 - 4*9*14)
x12 = ————————————
18
- 7 ± √(- 455)
x12 = ————————
18
- 7 ± i √ 455
x12 = ————————
18
I am not quite sure if you mean 9 times 2 or 9x times 2 (for the left side of the equation). If it is x as a variable then this is how to solve the equation:
9x2=-7x-14
18x=-7x-14 (multiply the 9x by 2)
25x=-14 (add 7x to each side)
x=-14/25 or -0.56 (divide both sides by 25)
If the left side contains no variable, then:
9x2=-7x-14
18=-7x-14 (multiply 9 by 2)
32=-7x (add 14 to both sides)
x=-32/7 or approximately -4.57 (divide both sides by 7)
I hope that helps you!
