b) (x^-2-y^-2)/x^-1 

Answer 1

[(x/4)-(4/x)]/[1-(4/x)]

[(x^2-16)/4x]/[(x-4)/x]

[(x-4)(x+4)/4x]*[x/(x-4)

simplify

(x+4)/4

 

(x^(-2)-y^(-2))/(x^(-1))

(x^(-2))/(x^(-1))-(y^(-2)/x^(-1))

x/(x^2)-x/(y^2)

(1/x)-(x/y^2), or if you want a single fraction...

(y^2-x^2)/xy^2
