If y=2/x and y=3x,
then 2/x = 3x
Given the above equation we can now solve for x.
- 2/x = 3x
- x2 = 2/3
- x = √2/3
Now that we have the value of x we can put this value into one of the given equations to find y:
- y = 2/x = 2/(√2/3) = 2.4494...
- Or, y = 3x = 3(√2/3) = 2.4494...

Hi Nataliya,
Thanks for the correction, you are correct. There will be a y1 and y2.
Therefore:
- y1 = 2/(v2/3) = 2.4494... and y2 = -2/(v2/3) = -2.4494...
- Or, y1 = 3(v2/3) = 2.4494... and y2 = -3(v2/3) = -2.4494...
