The perimeter of a rectangle is the sum of twice the length and twice the width.

 

 

Perimeter = 2(length) + 2(width)

 

Perimeter = 2(7(x + 3)) + 2(x - 5)

 

Perimeter = 2(7x + 21) + 2(x - 5)

 

Perimeter = 14x + 42 + 2x - 10

 

Perimeter = 16x + 32

 

Perimeter = 16(x + 2)
