I would suggest using a calculator.
If your calculator has an ex key then enter 0.5 and press ex.
If your calculator doesn't have an ex key but it has a key for e then press e to get the value of e and then press the square root key to get e(1/2). The (1/2) power is the same as the square root. You might need to reverse the order and press the square root key first depending what kind of calculator you have.
If you don't have any e keys on your calculator then try taking the square root of 2.718281828
