What are these letters doing in my equations? Here comes algebra!
Hi Jamya--
Were you given any choices? If not, I'm guessing the answer is either quarts or liters, depending on whether they want metric measurements or U.S.
When they say "best describes," they're asking you to make a sensible estimate of how much an average pitcher holds. Units like a milliliter, an ounce, a cup, would all be very, very small pitchers and wouldn't make sense. You could have a 1-gallon pitcher, but that would be on the big side. And something like a kiloliter (1000 liters) would be HUGE.
So a liter (think skinny soda bottle) or a quart (think skinny milk carton) are about pitcher size.
Hope this helps!
