1/6 of a foot = 12/6 = 2 inches

2/3 of a foot = (2/3)12 = 8 inches

2 inches + 8 inches = 10 inches

10 inches = 10/12 = 5/6 of a foot

1/6 + 2/3 = 5/6

2/3 = 4/6

1/6 + 4/6 = (1+4)/6 = 5/6
