Just like the opposite of addition is subtraction, and the opposite of multiplication is division, the opposite of exponents is roots.
To change x^(7/5) into a radical expression, you have to convert it to a root. The numerator stays as the power, and the denominator moves to the root:
5√x7

I think it would be more accurate to describe logs as the opposites of exponents. For instance, log10(103) = 3 and in general, log10(10x) = x just like x + 5 - 5 = x. I think it would be better to describe exponents and roots as alternative ways of talking about the same thing: so, x1/2 and sqrt(x) both mean the same thing.
