Question

How can I add as many colors as I want to a color library?

There are a few ways that you can do this, one way that I would suggest is to use one of the shape tools whether that be the rectangle tool, the ellipse tool, the polygon tool, or even the star tool, and then drawing a shape. Then locate the Menus up top and click on Window > Swatches. A small panel should open that contains all of your swatches. Afterward you will locate small logo that looks like a collection of books in the lower left hand corner. If you click on that you can look through its presets and see what all it has to offer You can then click and drag colors to a folder that is back in the swatches panel. Or, while still looking at the swatches panel if you locate a small plus icon to the far right, right beside of the trash can icon, you can use that to add in a new swatch color, as long as you know the correct hex code values of the color you want you can add it in that way as well.

This is a simple process if you are using the Creative Cloud Library.

To Add Colors from the Swatches Panel

First, Open the Swatches Panel: Go to Window > Color > Swatches.

Choose one or more swatches you want to add to your library.

Click the "Add selected swatches to my current library" icon at the bottom of the Swatches panel which will add them to your Creative Cloud Library.

To Add Colors from Objects

Choose an object in your document that has the color fill or stroke that you want to save.

In the Libraries panel, click the icon to add the fill or stroke color to your library.

Add Colors by Dragging Objects to Library

Select multiple objects with different colors applied.

Drag the selected objects directly into your Creative Cloud Library. This will add the colors used in these objects to your library, effectively simulating a color library.
