How do I get beyond nervousness, anxiety and the discomfort of speaking to audiences large or small?

I have Public speaking jitters but I have to present in front of my peers or executives periodically. How do I get beyond nervousness, anxiety and the discomfort of speaking to audiences large or small?

Nadia already covered most of my advice. One addition is to know your opening line especially well. Keep reciting it to yourself as you’re introduced. I’ve seen people freeze at the start. But usually, once you get going, if you know your material, it will all go well. Knowing your first line is Iike starting your car.
