The main artery supplying the foregut is the celiac artery. It gives off three principal branches:
- Common hepatic artery: Subdivides into further branches that supply liver, gall bladder, duodenum, head of pancreas, greater and lesser curvature of stomach
- Left gastric artery: Supplies lesser curvature of stomach
- Splenic artery: Principal blood supply of the spleen, also gives off small pancreatic branches as it makes its way to the pancreas. Distally, gives branch that supplies greater curvature of stomach, a s well a s short gastric branches
