Dyslexia means difficulty in reading. Dyslexia can be overcome by using a method which suits the reader. The learner who struggles needs boosts of confidence in reading correctly. He or she most likely had bad experiences trying very hard to attend to instruction and was disheartened with poor results. My approach when working with dyslexia students is to search for materials that they enjoy reading about. I administer a rigorous lesson approach to the level of reading already mastered which instills assurance for the next step, a higher level of learning.
