asked 03/08/19Payment for special education tutoring using HSA
We have been using Wyzant for almost 4 years now for our son's Dyslexia tutoring. Health Savings Account (HSA) and IRS rules allow for payment of special education tutoring via the HSA card. He have a signed letter from our son's pediatrician as well as medical documentation that he has dyslexia and needs tutoring.
An attempt to add my HSA card as my payment method has failed. How can we remedy this issue?
Thank you,
Gretchen Hale

My suggestion would be to research the therapists that accepts this type of payment. I know my son has a bi-polar disability, but he has to go to therapists that the government pays for. Many therapists don't take any insurance at all, which is difficult for those of us that need them. Your doctor may be able to tell you where to go to find a therapist/tutor that takes your payment, and I would first interview a few of them, then choose one best suited for your child. You can find wonderful educated and experienced therapists this way! Good luck!
