Assuming Q is the midpoint of PR, we then know that "2 PQ's" is congruent to PR through the definition of a midpoint. So our equation becomes:
2(9x - 3) = 14x + 5
x = 11/4
Substituting x back into the expression for the length of PQ:
PQ = 9(11/4) - 3 = 87/4
