Despite it's name, the ACT Science section is NOT a test of your scientific knowledge or, indeed, of any specific subject matter. With very minor exceptions (maybe 1 question out of 40), it is NOT testing you on Biology, Chemistry, or Physics. In fact, even if you incorrectly answer each and every such "knowledge-based" question, it is still possible to score a 35/36 or 36/36 on the Science section overall.
That is because this section is really a test of data interpretation skills. Recognizing trends in data, being able to extrapolate values based on given data, and find relevant data points are what this test is really all about.
Better yet, ALL of the skills tested on the Science section are really based on one fundamental skill, which is the focus on my ACT Science lesson. I see students improve dramatically after just one session, which goes to prove that this section is 100% crackable, even if you don't consider yourself a "Science person", and that it should not dissuade you from giving the ACT a try.
