if cosθ=-1/sqrt(5), then cos^2(θ)=1/5

The object is to find theta, not cos^2 (theta). Hence, use the inverse cosine on a calculator, as I suggested on my answer.

disagree, the angle doesn't change = tan^-1(2). You are using -1/sqrt(5) as a radian (or worse degree). It is cos(theta)=-1/sqrt(5)
