Hi Selene L, I think the question here is actually asking you to look up the relationships of the sides to the angles in a right triangle also called the Trigonometric Ratios. I think it is just asking whether you are familiar with the ratios and are able to recognize them regardless of the labels given. That said, you can look up the Trigonometric Ratios in your text or online. Metin E gave a great description below covering both angles x and y.
