My advice to any student looking to hire someone in my areas of expertise (clarinet and saxophone lessons), would be to first consider your playing level. This is important information to communicate to a potential instructor so that they can help you where you are currently in order to advance to the next playing level. My other piece of advice is to hire an instructor that makes you feel encouraged. If you have a first lesson with someone who is derogatory or does not seem warm hearted, look for a new instructor immediately. There should be no room for unkindness in music.
