The Foucault Pendulum is the first demonstration that proves Earth's rotation in a lab setting-- as opposed to astrological observations (watching the sun rise and set, etc.). It rotates CLOCKWISE in the Northern Hemisphere and COUNTER-CLOCKWISE in the Southern Hemisphere.
