A slice of cheese has a mass of 38 g and a volume of 21 cm³. What is the density of the cheese in units of g/cm³ and g/mL?

Use dimensional analysis.

Density has the units of mass / volume.

mass = 38 g

volume = 21 cm³ = 21 ml (note: 1 ml = 1 cm³. They are the same thing)

Density = 38 g / 21 cm³ = 1.809 g / cm³ = 1.8 g / cm³ (2 significant figures)

Density = 38 g / 21 ml = 1.809 g / ml = 1.8 g / ml (2 significant figures)
