Dance gives you a medium to express yourself and allows you to get lost in that dance. There is always more to learn or to improve upon and showcasing those skills builds confidence.
Dance is another form of communication: it teaches you how to listen, synthesize information and successfully use nonverbal communication with partners.

Dance is a skill building opportunity. You're presented with challenges that may take a long time to overcome (doing a split, achieving high kicks/leaps). Dancers feel great pride when they meet their goals and have a point of reference for success that translates into other areas of their lives.
