The angle of elevation to the top of a Building in New York is found to be 5 degrees from the ground at a distance of 2 miles from the base of the building. Using this information, find the height of the building. Round to the nearest whole number.

If you draw a picture of the right triangle, you'll see that the relationship between the angle and the top of the building is a tangent.

tan(5°) = height/distance = h/2

h = 2tan(5°) = 0.175 miles = 0.175(5280 feet/mile) ≈ 924 feet
