To determine if a precipitate will form, we will compare Q (reaction quotient) to the Ksp. If Q is > Ksp, a precipitate will form. If Q < Ksp, no precipitate will form.
Sr2+(aq) + CrO42-(aq) ==> SrCrO4(s) The precipitate is SrCrO4
Q = [Sr2+][CrO42-] = [1.29x10-2][2.3x10-6]
Q = 2.97x10-8
Compared to Ksp (4.00x10-5) Q is < Ksp so a precipitate will not form
