To prepare an acetate buffer, one needs to have acetic acid and sodium acetate. The problem provides us with a source of sodium acetate, however there is no mention of a source of acetic acid. Not sure how we are to prepare this buffer without acetic acid. Did you perhaps omit part of the problem?
