Since you don't include a diagram, you will at least need to describe the relationship between angles 1 and 8

There is no diagram. The question just asks that and I don’t understand it

There has to be some sort of relationship. If there is no diagram, are these angles supplements? Complements? Angle bisectors? There must be some way to relate these two angles by way of an equation.

Delanie, see my answer and note that once you know the measure of the other angle in the triangle, you can find the specific value of x and subsequently the measure of angle 8.

I agree with William W and James S above, Delanie’s info could also relate easily to a Transversal line crossing two parallel lines where angles labeled 1 through 8 were formed(4 angles at each intersection). With this situation, one could see if the angles are Vertical, Supplemental, or share other properties relative to their positions. What if angle 1 and angle 8 are Alternate Exterior angles. It seems odd that a triangle has 8 angles unless the triangle is sectioned off by medians or other lines. Of course, if it is simple there could be a triangle with only three angles labeled 1, 8 , and anything else. I think we still need more information like a diagram or description that defines the relationship between the two angles. I also tried searching the question to see if it was just incomplete but the student should make sure the post is complete so we can help her. I do also see that Benjamin M’s answer below does leave room for the student to provide more information.
