If P, Q, and R all lie along the same line and are therefore collinear then
PQ + QR = PR
So PQ = PR - QR
5x = 8 - (x + 2)
5x = 8 - x - 2
5x + x = 6
6x = 6
x = 1
If P, Q, and R are collinear can you continue from here?
