asked 10/06/23Find x if m<DEG = 8x-5, m<DEF = 29x, and m<GEF = 21x+5.
its my first time learning geometry, so if you guys can help it'll be great.

m∠DEG + m∠GEF = m∠DEF = 8x – 5 + 21x + 5 = 29x
x cannot be specifically determined
The only restrictions on x are given by 0° < x < 360°/29

I first tried m∠DEG + m∠DEF = m∠GEF, giving 8x – 5 + 29x = 21x +5. This leads to 37x – 21 x = 16x = 10, which gives x = 1.6. Plugging in this value of x runs into a problem though: m∠DEG = 7.8, m∠DEF 46.6 and m∠GEF = 38.6 are inconsistent with m∠DEG + m∠DEF = m∠GEF.10/06/23
