The method of canceling units, which is requested, is generally referred to as "unit factor" or "dimensional analysis. But first, we must write a correctly balanced equation for the reaction taking place:
HCl + NaOH ==> NaCl + H2O
Then we can use dimensional analysis to find the volume of 0.100 M HCl needed, as follows:
25.0 ml NaOH x 1 L /1000 ml x 0.350 mol/L x 1 mol HCl / mol NaOH x 1 L / 0.100 mol HCl = 0.0875 L
Notice that ml NaOH cancel, mols NaOH cancel, mol HCl cancel, leaving L (liters) of HCl.
If you want to convert this to mls of HCl, then 0.0875 L HCl x 1000 mls / L = 87.5 mls HCl
