To find the Area of a Triangle with side lengths of 7, 8, and 9 inches without using trigonometry. S is the perimeter of the triangle divided by 2, which in this case is 7 inches + 8 inches + 9 inches =24 inches, 24 inches divided by 2 = 12 inches. A = the square root of 12 (12-7) (12-8) (12-9) = the square root 12 X(5)x(4)x(3). This equals the square root of 12(60) = the square root of 720. The square root of 720 simplifies to: the square root of 36 times the square root of 20. This simplifies to 6 times the square root of 20. This further simplifies to 6 X square root of 4 X square root of 5. The square root of 4 is 2. The final simplified answer is: 12 times the square root of 5 inches squared.
