To find the volume of KOH, we need to know the moles KOH used in the reaction.
H2SO4 + 2KOH ==> K2SO4 + 2H2O .. balanced equation
moles H2SO4 present = 17.7 ml x 1 L / 1000 ml x 0.300 mol / L = 5.31x10-3 moles
To find mols KOH, use dimensional analysis and mol ratios in the balanced equation:
mols KOH = 5.31x10-3 mol H2SO4 x 2 mol KOH / 1 mol H2SO4 = 0.01062 mol KOH used
To find the volume of KOH, we use the fact that it has 0.100 moles / Liter (0.100 M):
0.01063 mol KOH x 1 L / 0.100 mol = 0.106 L KOH = 106 mls KOH
