Unsaturated, saturated and supersaturated are terms generally used to describe how much solute is dissolved in the solvent to make the solution under consideration.
Unsaturated indicates that more solute can still be dissolved
Saturated indicates that the solution has as much solute as it is able to dissolve
Supersaturated indicates that the solvent has more solute than normally it can dissolve. This generally results because the solution has been heated to allow more solute to dissolve than is possible at lower temperatures.
