The proof uses congruent triangles and the associated fact that all corresponding parts of two congruent triangles are the same. That means side JL ≅ side KL (which is shown correctly). But if JL ≅ KL, that means the distance from J to L is the same as the distance from K to L (it has nothing to do with point N)
