The half life for a 1st order reaction is given by
t1/2 = ln 2 / k = 0.693 / k
5.20x101 s = 0.693 / k
k = 0.0133 s-1
The initial concentration doesn't enter into the calculation, because the rate constant is independent of the initial concentration.
