An easy way to "see" this problem is to plot (draw) these 3 points on a Cartesian graph, or simple square grid.
After this is done, it is easy to see these distances as the hypotenuses of three right triangles.
IMPORTANT: indicate the graph origin first.
The sides of the triangle described by these points become:
- SQR(12 + 52) = SQR(26) = 5.1;
- SQR(12 + 32) = SQR(10) = 3.2;
- SQR(42 + 42) = SQR(32) = 5.7
