Good grade, Bad grade?

If I get a 50 percent while I have a 100 percent in class what will my new grade turn out to be?

That depends on how much the assignment is worth in this class. Take a look at your syllabus. If homework is worth 20% of the grade, and this counts as a homework assignment, you should average the grades of all your homework assignments. Then you take that number and calculate 20% of the total grade. Chances are that one assignment or one quiz won't sink your grade, but repeated low grades will. The best advice is to talk to your teacher or professor and ask what the impact of that grade is. They'll probably be able to show it to you, and they will show you where you can look that information up for yourself.

Ultimately, it depends on how different tests and assignments are weighed when it comes to the grades that you receive on each of them in your class(es).

But in terms of a general average: the average of 100 and 50 is 75, which is in the C range.
