You are given the point (5,12) from the graph. Find the values of theta for the six trigonometric functions:

Sin

Cos

Tan

Cotan

Sec

CoSec

You can first start off by drawing the right triangle.

label the horizontal side of the triangle as 5 and the vertical side of the triangle as 12. Then you need to find the diagonal side or third side of the triangle by using the Pythagorean theorem using the two values of 5 and 12. After you find that third side, you can apply the SOCTOA concept to find all six functions.

I assume that we are talking about the angle at the origin made from the hypotenuse and x axis call it θ.

Draw a triangle. You will find that the hypotenuse is 13 (from pythagoras). Of course you have to know how to apply SOH CAH TOA, and the reciprocal trig functions. For example sin θ = 12/13
