In the year 1999, I earned my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. I currently hold my Gifted Georgia Teaching Certification in the areas of Elementary Education(k-6) and Middle School Mathematics, Language Arts, and Social Studies. For the pass 23 years I have been an educator in various capacities. I started out my teaching career as an Elementary Education teacher. During this time I was responsible for teaching all content areas. These areas included, Mathematics, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Reading, Spelling, Writing, and Health. I spent a total of 10 years teaching Gifted Elementary Education. For the past 13 years, I have been a Middle School Accelerated/Standard Mathematics teacher for grades sixth to eighth grade. While teaching eighth grade mathematics, I taught eighth grade accelerated students who were earning their high school credit for completing the Algebra I course. I am currently Teacher of the Year for one of Gwinnett's County top performing Middle Schools. I'm currently the grade level leader for sixth-grade mathematics where I mentor teachers on learning effective teaching strategies, building positive relationships with students, and best teaching practices for meeting students needs for academic success. Under my leadership, my school ranked #1 for sixth-grade Standard Mathematics and fifth place for Accelerated Mathematics on the Gwinnett County Schools Final Exam for the 2021 - 2022 academic school year. Both ranking was the first year ever the school has made this achievement. For the past seven years, my students have earned a proficiency rate of eighty-two percent and above on the Sixth and Seventh Grade Georgia Milestones.
