I definitely used to be very nervous about speaking in front of a crowd.
My mother language is French, and therefore, I was concerned about having an accent or choosing poor words when speaking.
My experience as a professional speaker today has thought me that the best way to engage an audience when speaking whether it is in person or virtually is to be authentically yourself. You'll be surprised how much it truly does not matter how you look or if you are bi-lingual.
The key to a successful speaking engagement is to embrace your content delivery by ensuring that you studied your audience well so that you can provide them with the solution and/or expectations that they have when they decided to listen to you in the first place.
One of my top tips is to learn to pause and not speak too fast. Alongside that, it is important that your actual presentation is structured so that it is easy to follow.
Public Speaking takes practice. Your message is powerful, therefore, I would suggest not letting the fear of anything stop you from communicating your idea, expertise or knowledge.
