She has 2 more romance books than she does Sci-fi books. The sum of horror books and romance books is 8 less than twice the number of Sci-fi books. How many of each type of books does she have.

2s-8+s = 236

3s = 244

s = 81 1/3 sci fi books

r = s+2 = 83 1/3 romance

h =2(81 1/3)-8 - 83 1/3 = 162 2/3 -8-83 1/3 = 154 2/3 - 83 1/3 = 71 1/3

check the answers plug into the 1st equation

h+r+s = 236

81 1/3 + 83 1/3 + 71 1/3

= 164 2/3 + 71 1/3

= 236 total books
