Given that A = 0.8 radians and the hypotenuse is 8, find the length of the opposite and adjacent legs.

two legs are about: 5.74, 5.57

hypotenuse = 8

adjacent side = 8cos(.8) = about 5.57

opposite side = 8sin(.8) =about 5.74

use a calculator with trig functions

adjacent side = hypotenuse times cosA

opposite side = hypotenuse times sinA

.8 radians = about 45 degrees

so the two legs are about equal length

and about 8/sqr2 = 4sqr2 = about 4(1.414) = 5.656
