How do you find the perimeter of something on a graph?

Plot ABCDE formed with the points A(−3,−2)B(5,−2)C(5,3)D(1,6), and E(−3,3) onto graph paper

  1. Enlarge it from the origin by a factor of 2. Label this new shape A′B′C′D′E′.
  2. Find the area and the perimeter of both figures.

Did you draw a figure? If you draw it, you may not need to calculate distances at all. Depending on the figure and the grid you might just be able to count the distance between the points. Also you should draw the figure you might get a composite. The points indicate that you might have five sided figure.
