 a triangle has a perimeter of 50cm if two sides are equal and the third side is 5 more that the equal sides what is the length of the third side?

Let x be one of the two equal sides.

The third side is going to be x+5.

 

Perimeter=Side1+Side2+Side3

50=(x)+(x)+(x+5)

50=3x+5

45=3x

15=x        [Be careful, as this is NOT your answer]

 

The third side=x+5=15+5=20
