Math and Statistics need not be scary
Since the distribution is assumed to be normal the formula for the Z score is simple (by deffinition)
Z = (x - μ)/σ. SO - if x is one sd from mean (i.e. x = μ-σ) and with σ = 1 this becomes simple algebra.
Z = ((μ-σ)-μ)/σ. or -1/1 OR Z = ((μ+σ)-μ)/σ. or 1/1
The answer is minus one (or one)
Does no one ever read the definitions anymore?
