Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
if you meant to set them equal, then:
6x+1 = 5x +10
6x-5x = 10-9
x =1 which doesn't require any rounding
or maybe you meant
6x+1 +5x +10 = 0
then
11x =-11
x =-1 (but you want nearest whole number and whole numbers are non-negative, so it "rounds" to zero)
or maybe you intended 2 separate problems
6x+1 = 0
x =-1/6 which rounds off to zero for nearest whole number
and
5x+10 =0
x =-10/5 = -2 which rounds to zero for nearest "whole number" which is very strange, and almost looks like a trick quesiton if that was what the problem wanted. Or maybe a mistake in the problem. That method could make the national debt like it = 0, if you rounded -30+ trillion to the "nearest whole number" Just wipe the huge debt away as if it didn't exist.
whole numbers are non-negative integers which are the "natural numbers" plus zero = the set {0,1,2,3, ...}
