Density = mass / volume
We know the density = 2.60 g / cm3.
So, we need to first find the volume, so that we an finally calculate the mass.
In order to find the volume of the sheet of aluminum, we'll need to get all the measurements in the same units, e.g. all in cm.
4.75 mm x 1 cm / 10 mm = 0.475
1.80 m x 100 cm / m = 180 cm
2.48 ft x 12 inches / ft x 2.54 cm / inch = 75.59 cm
Volume = 0.475 cm x 180 cm x 75.59 cm = 6463 cm3
Density = mass / volume
mass (in g) = density x volume = 2.60 gm / cm3 x 6463 cm3
mass = 16,800 g (3 sig. figs.)
Converting this to pounds we have ...
16,800 g x 1 lb / 454 g = 37.0 lbs (3 sig. figs.)
