Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
(-6,5) and (3,-7) have a line through them with the equation:
(-7-5)/(3- -6) = (y+7)/(x-3)
-12/9 = -4/3 = (y+7)(x-3)
y+7 = -4x/3 + 4
y = -4x/3 -3 is the equation of the line through the two given points
the line has slope = -4/3 and y intercept =-3
it might help to plot the two points and connect them with a straight line
a picture is worth a thousand works or algebraic calculations
(-6,5) (3,-7) have a midpoint = the average of the coordinates (-3/2, -1)
the two points have a distance between them of sqr(12^2 +9^2) = sqr(144+81) = sqr225
or maybe the problem was about symmetry, reflecting the points about
the x axis, y axis or origin. Or reflecting the line in any of those 3 ways
Or you might try fitting a parabola through the two points.

Nothing indicating that the equation of the line passing through the point was required. What about the distance between the two? Or maybe the mid-point?08/26/22
