rectangle's area = (2x-2)(x+3) = 2x^2 +4x -6
triangle's area = (2x-2)(x+2)/2 = (x-1)(x+2) = x^2 +x -2
add them to get 3x^2 +5x - 8 = (3x+8)(x-1) = Total Area of the sign
