Length of line: 3 ft 6 in
As 1 ft = 12 in
therefore, 3 ft = 3*12 in = 36 in
So length of line = 36 + 6 in = 42 in
As line is being divided into 7 equal parts, length of each part = total length/ 7
= 42/7
= 6 in
